Love to Play?
The Theater Arts Department at Grossmont College is designed to provide academic knowledge
and practical training in all aspects of theater arts. The curriculum provides the
essential lower-division courses for four-year institutions, as well as for assisting
students in employment in the professional and community theater.
Areas of emphasis include acting, musical theater, and technical tracks (costume design,
theater make-up, scenic design, stage lighting, and sound design).
Duration
Our program offers Certificates of Achievement (COA), which can be earned in 2 semesters.
We also offer a local Associate of Arts (AA) degree, and an Associate of Arts for
Transfer Degree in Theatre Arts. These degrees can be earned in 4 semesters if you
are a full-time student and prepare you for transfer to a four-year institution.
