The Theater Arts Department at Grossmont College is designed to provide academic knowledge and practical training in all aspects of theater arts. The curriculum provides the essential lower-division courses for four-year institutions, as well as for assisting students in employment in the professional and community theater.

Areas of emphasis include acting, musical theater, and technical tracks (costume design, theater make-up, scenic design, stage lighting, and sound design).

Duration
Our program offers Certificates of Achievement (COA), which can be earned in 2 semesters.

We also offer a local Associate of Arts (AA) degree, and an Associate of Arts for Transfer Degree in Theatre Arts. These degrees can be earned in 4 semesters if you are a full-time student and prepare you for transfer to a four-year institution.
