Reset Self-Service Password
This page provides instructions for resetting or recovering your @gcccd.edu SSO (Self-Service, Canvas, etc.) password in case you forget it or get locked out. These instructions are intended for students, faculty, and staff.
*Note: You must have set up multi-factor authentication on your account to be able to recover your password. This means you either have the Microsoft Authenticator app, or have added your phone number and email to your security factors .
Recover Your Password
If you forget your password, and have already set up multi-factor authentication, you may recover your account using the procedure below:
- Open Microsoft’s Password Reset tool in any web browser.
- Enter your GCCCD email.
- Enter the captcha.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Passwords must be 16 characters or longer. Resetting or updating your @gcccd.edu SSO password will affect Self-Service, Canvas, GCCCD email, Workday, printing, campus computers, Wi-Fi, Library database access, and more.
*Note: Passwords may be changed no more than once every 24 hours.
