Journalism

Journalism is the first rough draft of history.
 
A degree in journalism offers graduates a variety of career paths in such fields as print and TV/Radio broadcast news, social media editors, news management, copy editing, internet news, digital communications, public relations It also serves as an excellent foundation for in fields such as politics, education, management, and information production and dissemination. The program is designed to meet lower division requirements for transfer. 

Associate in Arts in Journalism for Transfer Degree (AA-T): This AA-T degree provides students with the lower division core courses required for bachelor-level study in the discipline. The program is designed for students looking to transfer to a university to earn a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Media Communication - Cross-Media Journalism Emphasis (AA): This local degree prepares students for a career as a journalist with hands-on training in producing news for publication across multiple platforms. Graduates receive an associate of arts degree. (Sample Degree Map Coming Soon) 

Duration 
The Associate in Arts in Journalism for Transfer Degree (AA-T) is designed to be completed in four semesters. It will provide students with the lower division core courses required for bachelor-level study in the discipline.
