Kenneth Anderson is an internationally celebrated Gospel Director/Singer/Pianist currently conducting the UCSD Gospel Choir as well as the acclaimed Martin Luther King Junior Choir of San Diego. Its repertoire includes music from African –American singing traditions, from Slave Songs and Negro Spirituals to all forms of Gospel music.This “one” unit ensemble rehearses Tuesday/Thursday from 1:30 to 2:50 in Room 225. Just register for the class and attend the first meeting of the ensemble. Mr. Anderson will place you in the most appropriate section of the choir. Ken is an internationally recognized Gospel musician as well as being the music director of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir San Diego (MLKCCSD), commonly referred to as the MLK Choir. The MLK Choir provides scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the visual and performing arts (www.mlkccsd.net). Ken is also a Lecturer at the University of California San Diego, and music director of the UCSD Gospel Choir. He is also a music pastor at Scott Memorial Community Church. In addition to his music director responsibilities, Ken maintains a private voice studio, as well as leading Gospel music workshops throughout the U.S. and Europe. He is also a foster father to nine (9) sons—all grown!
Ken has been a member of the Grossmont College Music Faculty since the Fall of 2006. His classes include Gospel Choir.
