Grossmont College is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace for staff, faculty
and students. Board Policy 5525 states that "Any student who engages in the unlawful
manufacture, distribution, possession, or use of a controlled substance and/or alcohol
on District owned or operated property or at an official college-sponsored function,
or who is under the influence of any controlled substance or alcohol is in violation
of state, District, and college regulations and is subject to disciplinary action."
The Student Discipline Procedures and Student Code of Conduct states that grounds for disciplinary action exist when there is "Unlawful possession,
use, sale, offer to sell, or furnishing, or being under the influence of, any controlled
substance listed in California Health and Safety Code Sections 11053 et seq., an alcoholic
beverage, or an intoxicant of any kind; or unlawful possession of, or offering, arranging
or negotiating the sale of any drug paraphernalia, as defined in California Health
and Safety Code Section 11014.5."
Grossmont College also offers Health Education 120 - Personal Health and Lifestyles: A course emphasizing the information required to make important decisions concerning lifestyle and total health. An examination of stress, drugs, major diseases, nutrition, weight control, sexuality, aging, environmental issues and other topics related to health and fitness. A practical approach to understanding. A challenge to the student to assume responsibility for, and take charge of, his/her own health and well-being. Satisfies GE for Grossmont College and CSU. Transfers to CSU and UC (credit limited.)
Grossmont College requires students who are taking classes on campus or seeking on-campus resources to be fully vaccinated. Students may submit applications for medical or religious exemptions, but those exemptions must be approved by the college. Any student who is taking a class on campus and has received an vaccination exemption must undergo weekly COVID-19 testing and upload those results. Documentation can be uploaded through Self-Service.

contact the Office of Student Affairs at 619-644-7600 or visit the Student Affairs Office (Griffin Center, Building 60-204). Student Affairs
will provide students with the resources and support needed during this time. In addition,

Any sexual assault or physical abuse, including, but not limited to, rape, as defined
by California law, whether committed by an employee, student, or member of the public,
occurring on Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District property, in connection
with all the academic, educational, extracurricular, athletic, and other programs
of the District, whether those programs take place in the District’s facilities or
at another location, or on an off-campus site or facility maintained by the District,
or on grounds or facilities maintained by a student organization, is a violation of
District policies and regulations, and is subject to all applicable punishment, including
criminal procedures and employee or student discipline procedures (AP3540).
