Your Canvas account will be created approximately 6 hours after you have completed your course registration. 

Reset Password

The reset password link will send an email to the email address identified in Canvas/Self-Service. If you did not receive the email or need additional help resetting your password please use the following resources

Canvas Guides

The Canvas knowledge base contains guides and videos with information on how to use Canvas. Check out the Student Canvas Guides to learn more about Canvas.


Canvas Help

When you are in Canvas, click the Help icon in the global navigation (left-side of screen) to see a list of helpful resources and contact information. You can search the Canvas guides, find the Canvas contact information and "live chat" with Canvas support.


Change Canvas Display Name

Please submit the Change Canvas Display Name form to request a display name change. This will change how your name appears in Discussions, Announcements and Conversations in Canvas, but it will not change the display of your name on the People page or Grades. Self-Service and Canvas username will stay the same.


To change your official name with Grossmont College, please contact Admissions and Records.
