If You Lived Here

The Hyde Art Gallery is thrilled to jump start the 2017 fall semester with West Coast Drawing, a Southern California collective of twenty-five artists who work primarily in two-dimensional media. If You Lived Here will showcase facets of California life, a subject matter that is sometimes sublime, sometimes extreme, but always compelling.

West Coast Drawing’s mission is to provide inspiration, artistic support and career advancement for outstanding artists working in drawing media. The mission also highlights the importance of drawing, its diversity, its technical challenge, and its standard-bearing excellence in the arts. The collective exists to create an engaging dialog with others on the evolving nature of drawing and to show that drawing is a valid final media for expression.

The artists exhibiting will be Tony Beltran, K.D. Benton, Justina Carrasco, Carlos Castrejon, Joyce M. Corum, Cheryl Cotman, Gary Dyak, Joshua Eggleton, Therese Cipiti Herron, Linda Kardoff, Lou Anne Kromschroeder-Davis, Laura Lehman, Echo Lew, Clayton Llewellyn, Kathleen McCord, Robert Nelson, Susan J. Osborn, Mick Phelan, Judy Pike, Maria Evangelina Rodriguez, Joan C Thompson, Ted Washington, and Kathy Serrano Zanot.

If You Lived Here will run from August 21st until September 14th 2017 at Grossmont College’s Hyde Art Gallery. The Hyde Art Gallery will host an exhibition reception on Tuesday, August 19th from 5 - 7 PM. There will be live music and delicious refreshments will be served. Admission is always free and the public is encouraged to attend.
