November 1 – November 14, 2016
Reception: November 10, 2016, 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Hyde Art Gallery is pleased to be exhibiting six member artists from the SDMAAG roster – Christine Finkelson, Dottie Korn Davis, Ellen Dieter, Jeffrey Comulada, Kevin Inman, and Leslie Pierce. This short, two-week "Pop-Up" exhibition will showcase several, excellent examples of painting, photography, and 3D assemblage, all produced by local San Diego artists.
SDMAAG’s mission is to bridge the divide between The San Diego Museum of Art and the artist community of San Diego County by establishing an unequaled affiliation between the two. Art museums historically have the ability to lend validation to an artist’s legacy. Consequently, this collective bonding institution and community is a crucial life-line. Especially for artists producing work in a region, like San Diego County, that is considered insulated from the larger art world.
To further their mission, SDMAAG offers new sales platforms for their member artists both online and at sponsored exhibitions, providing artists with new opportunities to meet and share their latest works, and enhancing the public's awareness and appreciation of local artists
SDMAAG Pop-Up will run from November 1st until November 14th, 2016 at Grossmont College’s Hyde Art Gallery. The Hyde Art Gallery will host an exhibition reception on November 10th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be a live performance by jazz guitarist Jeff Hofmockel and refreshments will be served. Admission is always free and the public is encouraged to attend.
