The Hyde Art Gallery at Grossmont College is proud to present HOME•MADE II, our Spring
2021 Remote Student Art Showcase.
This semester the gallery received well over 200 submissions from students currently
enrolled in the various programs within the Visual Arts & Humanities Department. Starting
tomorrow May 17 until June 17, the creative efforts of our talented student artists
will be available for viewing at www.hydeartgallery.com. From the comfort of your
own home, you will be able to scroll through and read about some of the most exciting
art and design projects that Grossmont College students have produced this semester!
In addition to the virtual exhibit, the gallery is thrilled to be able to present
highlights from each class in our window display in Grossmont’s beautiful Performing
and Visual Arts Center. These are the first works to be displayed in our new gallery
space and it represents the beginning of a return to normal in-person exhibitions
at Grossmont College. Although the campus remains closed, these works can be viewed
along the pathway in front of the Performing and Visual Arts Center building at the
edge of campus in Parking Lot 1. As always, please use caution, remain appropriately
socially distanced, and wear a mask when necessary.
We cannot wait to share the new interior space and all our future exhibitions and
events with you when it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we hope all of our gallery
patrons and the entire Grossmont College community remain safe and stay healthy.
The Visual Arts and Humanities Department will continue its tradition of distributing awards-of-merit to exceptional students across all disciplines. Student artwork will also be highlighted on the gallery’s social media feeds over the next month.
