Kathy Meyer, taught as a full time dance instructor for the Grossmont College Dance Department from 1989-2020. She served as department chair from 1991 to Spring 2011, served as co-chair with David Mullen for the Spring 2013 semester, and lead the department as chair again from 2017-2019. She retired from full-time teaching in June 2020 but is now back teaching part-time adjunct instructor.
Kathy received her B.A. in Dance from California State University at Long Beach and her M.A. in dance and theater at California State University at Fullerton. She has danced with the Gloria Newman Dance Theater, The Matti Lasco Dance Company and studied and performed with Repertory Dance Theater (RDT).

She completed her comprehensive Pilates certification through BASI Pilates under the
tutelage of master instructor Rael Isacowitz. She developed and taught the Pilates
courses for the Grossmont College Dance Department from 2001 to 2020.
Awards
Curriculum CreationInitiated and instructed the curriculum for the following courses:
Kathy taught Modern I-IV, choreography, and Dance Theater Production for 30+ years before retirement.
Kathy currently teaches Pilates I/II/III/IV (Danc-118ABCD) Teaching Practicum 121-122-123 at Grossmont College Dance.
