Information for Instructors

EvaluationsEvaluation of Full-time Faculty:

  • Packets for student components are delivered to the chair of the department after the 3rd week of classes.

  • One management and one peer evaluation are required. Only a tenured faculty member may serve as a peer evaluator. Only whole number scores (1-5) are permitted. No fractional scores will be accepted.

  • Peer and Manager will summarize observations and evaluations on the Evaluation Form. (Accessible on Forms Depot.)


Evaluation of Part-time Faculty:

  • Packets for student components are delivered to the chair of the department after the 3rd week of classes.

  • One manager and one peer evaluation is required. Only whole number scores (1-5) are permitted. No fractional scores will be accepted.

  • A department chair/coordinator may designate as a peer evaluator for part-time faculty a tenured faculty member or a tenure track faculty member who is in year three (3) or year four (4) of the tenure review process and who has a satisfactory evaluation.

  • Peer and Manager will summarize observations and evaluations on the Evaluation Form. (Accessible on Forms Depot.)


Evaluation of Contract Faculty:

  • Contract faculty are evaluated each fall for the first four years of employment until tenure is earned.

  • Packets for student components are delivered to the chair of the department after the 3rd week of classes. Packets for Contract Faculty in their 1st year will be delivered after week six (6).

  • The Tenure Review Committee consists of one manager and two peer evaluators. Only whole number scores (1-5) are permitted. No fractional scores will be accepted.

  • Peers and Manager will summarize observations and evaluations on the Evaluation Form. (Accessible on Forms Depot.)

Regarding Student Components:

  • These section numbers are selected by your dean and should not be changed without contacting the Faculty Evaluations Office with the Dean's approval first. If you feel that not all the correct classes are being visited, please pass that information on to our office right away.

  • Please return student scantrons to the Faculty Evaluations Office no later than November 21, 2014, in the original envelope they were sent in. Please refrain from making any extraneous marks on the envelope or label.
  • Please submit your peer evaluation directly to Carolinn Torwick in the Faculty Evaluations Office by November 21, 2014. You may send a hard copy or send an electronic version to: Carolinn.Torwick@gcccd.edu

Evaluation materials for Librarians/Counselors/DSP&S Specialists

  • Student scantrons are obtained from the Faculty Evaluations Office.
  • Peer and Manager forms are accessible on Forms Depot.
